The thought of Scotty’s Little Soldiers kept
me going

Running a marathon is one thing but three of them over a weekend is a challenge in a league of its own.

Joe Howlin (a corporal in 2RTR) said, “I’d never done a marathon before but when the challenge arose, I knew it was something I wanted to be apart off.

I love a challenge and the fact that I could raise some money for such a brilliant charity made me want to do it even more. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.  It was mentally and physically draining and the hills we were running up were unbelievable. There were plenty of times I thought I’d have to stop but the thought of Scotty’s Little Soldiers kept me going. Having some of the Scotty team and my family popping up at varies points cheering us on and showing their support was a massive help and kept me grinning and morale high.”

In total the guys from 2RTR raised an amazing £640.00 for Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
