The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world, taking place annually in North East England. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields.

Take one of our charity places for this amazing challenge, on a first come first served basis. To join Team Scotty and fundraise at this event please set up a Just Giving page. (2024 places available later in the year) Our Supporter Team will confirm your interest within 48 hours by email.

Registration is free but you must raise a minimum of £200 for Scotty’s by the 3rd June, otherwise you will be at risk of losing your place. Remember, when you raise £50 or more online, we’ll send you a special Scotty’s morale patch. When you raise over £100 online, a FREE running vest will be on it’s way to you!

Here's how it works:

1. Set up your Just Giving fundraising page here. *Come back soon for 2024 places!
2. Update your fundraising page to let everyone know why you are taking part in the event and supporting Scotty's Little Soldiers.
3. Share your fundraising page link on social media and ask friends and family to sponsor you, or encourage them to sign up too! Don’t forget to tag Scotty’s Little Soldiers or use the hashtag #HelpTheirChildrenSmile when sharing online.
4. Once you raise £200, we will confirm your details with the event company, and send you your free running vest.
5. Start training (Watch out Mo Farah!)
6. Run your way to victory, and raise the other £100 of the target amount.

What you need to know:

When you set up your Just Giving page, the information will come through to Scotty's. Please make sure you provide the correct contact details so that we can support you with your fundraising and help you secure your place in the event.

Our Supporter Team will confirm your interest within 48 hours. Our offices are open Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm.

Registration is free but you must raise a minimum of £200 for Scotty’s by the 3rd June. Without this we cannot guarantee your entry.

Once you reach the £200, your details will be added to the Great North Run admin area. This will generate an email to you, asking you to confirm your entry details.

The remaining £100 must be raised up to two weeks after the event date.
