Scotty’s Little Soldiers are a £1.5m UK national charity which provides specialist support for bereaved military children and young people (aged 0-25). Scotty's is currently supporting 650+ young people but aims to be supporting 1000+ bereaved military children and young people annually by 2030. Having established a key role within the Armed Forces charitable sector over the past decade, Scotty’s is now embarking on a growth phase to build a charity capable of delivering its 2030 goals. We deliver 4 Family Programmes; SMILES, SUPPORT, STRIDES and SPRINGBOARD, which provide a range of emotional and educational support for bereaved military families.
Scotty’s is seeking a super, grant go-getter to be accountable for all income generated through partnerships with grant-making organisations and the relationships that drive them. You will be part of an exciting period of growth for Scotty’s in a fun and supportive team and be motivated to build on our strong base of support and attract new funders. You'll have experience of finding and meaningful relationships, writing and telling strong stories for compelling funding proposals and reports and communicating what we do and its social value impact clearly and with purpose. Additionally, you'll have the confidence to represent Scotty’s at a range of functions and events when required with or without other members of the team. You will hold accountability for:
Developing a pipeline of grants income in line with agreed annual targets.
Researching and applying for new funding opportunities in line with the charity’s plans and requirements.
Managing awarded grants, reporting requirements and relationships with providers.
Growing relationships with our wonderful, sophisticated funders.
Who has energy and drive, who moves quickly and shares our entrepreneurial spirit! Who is a team player, can manage their own time but also work collaboratively. Who really cares about the impact of their work. Who owns their weaknesses and learns from their mistakes, using them to help Scotty’s to grow and move forwards.
The Scotty’s Way and our non-negotiables.
At Scotty’s our personal performance is only 50% of what success looks like. Our culture is as important to us as anything else. If you agree to join the team, you are signing up to the Scotty’s Way.
At the heart of the Scotty’s Way are our four core values as created by the whole team.
