May Marathon

IT'S BACK! Now in its 8th year, Scotty's Little Soldiers brings you our most popular event - MAY MARATHON!

  • Date: 1st May - 31st May 2024
  • Location: Virtual Event
  • Registration Fee: £0
  • Minimum Fundraising: £0

Take on 26.2 miles during the month of May, whilst raising funds to ensure specialised bereavement support is in place for our bereaved military children and young people.

Walk, run, jog, or complete it in any way that works for you. Do it in one day, in two halves, or complete the miles across the whole month of May. Get the whole family involved, rope your work colleagues into a lunchtime stroll, or use it as a bit of 'me time' - Complete the challenge your way - all we ask is you have fun!

Once you raise over £50, we'll send you an exclusive pair of Scotty's Little Soldiers laces to provide an extra bit of motivation and jazz up your fancy footwear and a Scotty's running vest or t-shirt - it's your choice.

Log your miles, and we'll send you one of our fabulous May Marathon medals to celebrate your completion of the challenge.

What are you waiting for?

Here's how it works:

  1. Click here to create your fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/maymarathon2024
  2. Update your page to let people know: why you are taking part in the event and supporting Scotty's Little Soldiers, how you plan to complete the distance, when you will be completing your challenge.
  3. Share your fundraising page link on social media and ask friends and family to sponsor you, or encourage them to sign up too? Don’t forget to tag Scotty’s Little Soldiers or use the hashtag #MayMarathon when sharing online.
  4. Run, Jog or Walk your way through the 26.2 miles

What you need to know:

Even if you don’t feel in a position to ask for donations, you can still get involved, have fun and keep active. In the past, some people have popped a small donation on to their own fundraising page as a contribution, and inspired others to join them on the challenge.

If you’re still keen to fundraise but struggling to get sponsorship, why not take a look at our digital supporter pack which is full of tips and information.
