Our SUPPORT Programme is for children and young people who need a little something extra. It provides 1:1 bereavement support and bereavement counselling (pre and post bereavement) to help with the emotional health and wellbeing of those who are struggling.
Research suggests that between 10%- 20% of bereaved children will need this kind of extra support, and that’s what we see here at Scotty’s too. We also see how much it helps. Families accessing our 1:1 support report a significant impact in their child’s self-esteem, coping skills and their ability to communicate with friends and family.
Our SUPPORT Programme also provides 1:1 support and guidance for parents, particularly those with younger children, along with drop-in and workshops and other group events.
If you know of a child or young person who has either experienced the death of a parent or where a parent has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is dying, and they served in the British Armed Forces, and they are not yet a member of Scotty’s please get in touch or complete our membership form here
