Why support Scotty's Little Soldiers?
The death of a serviceman or woman has a profound impact on a military child throughout their life, with their grief re-emerging in different ways over the years. Without adequate support, challenges faced following their parent’s death can spiral out of control. They may experience anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, challenges in education and intense feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Scotty's Little Soldiers provide specialised bereavement support, access to a unique military community and the opportunity for military children to smile again following their bereavement. Nikki founded Scotty's Little Soldiers after her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, was killed by an IED while serving in Afghanistan in 2009.
